Best Practice for the safe packing and handling of cargo to and from offshore locations requires that all Cargo Carrying Units and Lifting Gear used to ship materials to or from offshore installations are correctly chosen for the purpose, in terms of type, size, and load-carrying capacity. They should satisfy themselves that a current testing and inspection regime is in place.
